OUR TEAMS
We have the largest men’s university hockey club in the United Kingdom with 190+ members spread over 7 competitive teams, over double the size of all other men’s university hockey clubs in Scotland. Our large club size means we can cater for all abilities of hockey, whether you’ve played at an international level, or never picked up a stick, and allows us to gain a much greater level of fluidity and player transitions between teams, promoting a highly competitive environment.

For the 2024-25 season, the first team will compete in both the Scottish Premiership and the BUCS North 1A. Building on last year's success of winning the BUCS vase and securing 3rd place in the Scottish Premiership, the team has strengthened across all positions. The addition of some quality freshers, with both premiership and international experience, as well as 2 goalkeepers involved with Great Britain EDP, it puts us in a strong position. With coaching from Scottish international coach Neil Allan it’s an exciting time to be apart of the team.

For 2024/25 season, EUMHC 2XI (aka Bill’s Angels) will be gunning for victory in Scottish BUCS 1 and the BUCS National Trophy, whilst defending the coveted Scottish Regional 1 and District Cup after an invincible season in all Scottish hockey fixtures. Even after losing some key senior players, the boys are in an excellent position for the upcoming season. Lead by player-coach Ewen Mackie, in his third year at the helm - the Bangels are looking to do even better and win it all. On all accounts the quadruple is coming back to the Cauldron.

Following a strong cup double winning season last year, the 3s aim to build on those successes and secure promotions in the BUCS regional league 2 and Scottish hockey tier 2 while defending our cups. With a strong core staying on from last year, ambitions are high. Our level is ideal for those looking for a competitive level of hockey while not being overly serious, demonstrated by our strong social presence. #3forthe3s.

Balancing a competitive standard of on and off pitch performances at the heart of the club, the 4s are looking forward to another fun and challenging season to come. With cup glory, BUCS promotion and further 5s defeats firmly in our sights, we can’t wait to welcome a new group of players into our squad. I have no doubt that the 2024-25 season will be as good as the last.

The 5s is nestled nicely in the middle of the club, and strong performances last year meant we ended up finishing above the 4s in the Scottish Tier 3 BUCS league. We also continue to compete in our Saturday league, meaning that with 2 games a week there’s enough for all to get involved.

The Sixes play in BUCS Scotland 4 and had a tough season last year leaving us in Scottish East District 3, however we're all excited to bounce right back and push ourselves to get promoted straight back up this year as well as upgrading those BUCS cup silvers to golds. With coaching provided by Arthur Owens and Michael Trimble it's going to be a great season for the sixes.

The Sevens are a team that welcomes hockey players of all abilities, even if you've never picked up a stick before. We play in two leagues- Scotland East District 3 and BUCS Scotland Tier 4- so there's plenty of opportunity to get some match day experience. With a coaching duo of President Florian Garland-Hoff and our very own Jamie Law, we are looking to move up the league tables this year, and maybe even go on a little cup run. All in all, we are an inclusive and social team, often remembering to take our hockey seriously- especially when it comes to playing the Sixes.
